Active Mindsteps

Our programs are designed for seniors to help maintain cognitive and physical function as well as stay socially engaged in their communities.

In our ageing society it is important to stay healthy, independent, and active to ensure we can live younger longer.

We offer several courses each year, and depending on the location, they range from 8 to 10 sessions either weekly or fortnightly. Each session is 90 minutes long and is led by a qualifed and certified Group Leader. A nominal fee will be charges to cover basic costs. This can vary due to venue charges and other associated costs.

The activities in the sessions are carefully planned and include cognitive activities that target short- and long-term memory, concentration and focus, logic, spatial ability and general skill recall. In addition, physical exercises are included to enhance motor- and basic movement skills. Then add a generous sprinkle of fun and lots of support and friendship to complete the session. 

Research indicates that being cognitively and physically active, and socially engaged can enhance the quality of life in our senior years,  and can help delay the onset of cognitive decline and/or lessen the impact of symptoms.  Active Mindsteps addresses these risk factors by providing regular cognitive challenges, movement and social interaction.
